In honour of all those that had already bought units here, and to the growing success of the building, we decided to have ourselves a little party last weekend. Owner and developer Jonathan Liebmann and his wife Lauren Wallet were the proud host and hostess of the evening as their penthouse up on the 7th floor needed a little house warming. Jonathan and Lauren have been living in Main Street Life for a month now. Below are some photos of their penthouse.

Elle Decor magazine paid us a visit yesterday. They gonna be doing a massive feature on Main Street Life. estimated shelf time for the story is scheduled to be end of May. Sitting on the designer wave unit is Mlaleli. He and his sister have each bought a place here in Main Street Life. By day, Mlaleli works for global news and media agency CNBC. But on this fine morning, we roped him in to becoming a model. He’s taken a single furnished unit, almost exactly like the one he was photographed in, so from June, things are gonna look a little something like this for him!

Joburg based rock band Voodoo Child used Main Street Life as the location for their latest music video last month. Above, is the video now completed, and its amazing to watch it after having documented some of the behind the scenes action! Some of it snuck into an episode of Russell’s Bedroom (watch the episode)The guys made best use of the rubble, and the fact that the ground floor hadn’t yet been divided up into the separate retail spaces. The master shot used in the video has now been segmented, and development of Malva, and The Bioscope are well underway. The shoot came almost a week after local hip hop act Maraza also used the building for a music video location. So at the time it was great to see the creative diversity and how the building could could be used in so many different ways!

The above photo was taken from the courtyard inside Main Street Life. Inside the courtyard is a public space for all those enjoying the retail spaces on the ground floor.

Above is where the entrance to the building will soon be. The entrance passageway is going to be a curated gallery space. Maboneng’s very own Seippel Gallery will curate the space. Check out what’s been planned for the first exhibition here.

The trees arrived this morning. From the moment they went in, the place changed immediately. Now, the line of trees extend all the way up Fox St, highlighting what is quickly becoming the Maboneng Precinct. Maboneng (Place of Light) is the name given to the precinct being developed by Propertuity over here on the east side!

So you can rest easy knowing that a not just a SPAR, but a SUPER SPAR is right around the corner from Main Street Life. They got literally everything you need when it comes to groceries. Its literally a 2 min drive away down Bezuidenhout Drive, right next to the Troyeville Hotel.

They’re open EVERY DAY from 7:30am till 8pm. Including public holidays and Sundays. Plus, they got a Tops (the bottle store component)  en suite.
